DIP Print: Create Striking Surfaces with Water Transfer Printing
As pioneer of the DIP Printing Method (also known as Water Transfer Printing) merkt considers itself your partner in bringing extraordinary ideas to life. A previously dull and dreary product surface transforms into one with a beautiful root nut finish, a cool aluminium look or a sophisticated free-style pattern.
In order to coat a product in a desired pattern a film is first created to transfer the pattern onto the product. This film is then floated on water and the product is dipped into it. When the product is removed from the water the foil is washed away and the product is then coated in a transparent scratch proof lacquer.
Any materials such as plastics, wood, metal and even glass can be used. merkt is able to add your design even to
larger pieces or even those heavily shaped.
The colouration of the design can be adjusted either by the base colour or individual priming of the piece. Additional
effect can be added by the type of top coat and its degree of gloss.
